Hey I’m D. I’m a Toronto transplant, but Jamaican born and raised (island girl always and forever) :)

I'm a postpartum nurse #BestJobEver. While this is a major part of my life I have other loves.

I love beautiful spaces, being creative, doing things myself, saving a dollar, and reusing things whenever I can.  My father made sure I knew my way around a power tool and my mother (@InteriorsofElegance) made sure I expressed my creative side.

Being a nurse is busy, so with that in mind and in addition to all the other aspects of who I am, I decided to start The Chic Upcyclery. Walking through a thrift store, or finding an item while walking through my neighbourhood, coming up with an idea, and putting in a little elbow grease to make something I love relaxes me.

So join me as I attempt to take my very lived-in Toronto apartment from basic to chic…on a budget.

Thank you for stopping by. If you like what you see, please feel free to subscribe and stop by often, I’ll keep the projects coming!

Hope to have you back,

The Chic Upcyclery
