DIY Doily Art
It's been a while...but guess what?!? I moved! Which means, many many many projects to come.
Back to business. I needed to add something to the walls in my aunt's guest room and I wanted to keep it simple and inexpensive. I was walking home and found a really well made frame on the curb (YAY!). The glass was broken and the picture inside was ...let's just say it wasn't what I was looking for.
Now onto what to put inside the the frame. I flipped the card stock picture that was inside the frame and painted it navy blue. #FrugalTip I used paint I found at Dollarama and they worked great! I had three doilies that my mother gave me, however I had never used them (and probably never would, at least not in the way they were meant to be used...sorry mom). I could not bring myself to throw them out because they were handmade. I figured I would try using these to create some wall art, so I tired a few arrangements until I found one I liked. I glued the doilies to the painted card stock with white craft glue.
I love the way this turned out! Best part, it cost less than $5.00.
- Silver frame and card stock: Free
- Navy Blue Paint: $1.13
- White Glue: $1.13
- Glass: Free (I asked my uncle to get me a scrap piece from the company he works for).
Until next time,
