 DIY Side Table Transformation

DIY Side Table Transformation

My landlord put this little gem out to be picked up on trash day. Luckily I got it before the trash truck made its rounds in my neighbourhood :) It looks a little rough but have a little vision and a little faith!

Here's what I used:

Super adherent primer, Paint, Furniture Stripper, Helmsman Spar Satin Alkyd Urethane, Steel Wool, Putty Knife, Paint Brushes, Painters Tape, Gloves, Sanding Block

I applied Circa 1850 furniture stripper using a paintbrush and left it for a few minutes. I scraped off the first layer using the putty knife. I repeated these steps a couple more times. On the last application, I used the steel wool to help remove the remaining finish. This stripper did not require afterwash, so I wiped it down with a damp cloth and allowed the wood to dry.

Time to paint! I taped off the entire bottom of the table top and applied three coats of Beauti-Tone Super Adherent Primer in white. I then applied two coats of CIL Platinum Interior Paint in antique white

I then applied one coat of Helmsman Spar Satin Alkyd Urethane in clear satin to the table top and allowed everything to dry overnight. Here's the finished product:

This little table is a perfect addition to my kitchen! I love it!

Until next time,

XO D
