Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my DIY transformations as I decorate my home on a budget! Hope you have a nice stay!

Corner to Closet

Corner to Closet

Living in Canada means needing different wardrobes. It's now summer so I need to store all my fall and winter coats, scarves etc. I had to get creative because as I mentioned before...I have no closet space! I also live in a small apartment which means that space is limited. I had an empty corner next to my TV so...I decided t turn it into a closet space :)

This is what we are working with:

I went to my local Home Hardware and picked up the following:

Everything cost me only $36! I also bought four 11 3/4x10 1/4 " Lack shelves off Kijiji for $10.

I used one nipple, the elbow, the welded pipe, and two of the flanges to make an L-shaped rod. This will be the rod that holds the curtains that will cover my "closet". To make my hanger rod I screwed together the other nipple and flange, with the cap.

I attached my L-shaped rod and hanger rod to the walls using drywall anchors and screws. I attached my shelves to the corner using four L brackets. To cover everything I used two drapery panels I had in storage.

I have managed to store so much in such a small space. What do you think? I'm pretty proud of this one!

Until next time,
