DIY Drawer Pulls
My desk was in dire need of a makeover. Guess where I found it! If you guessed "on the curb to be thrown out"...you are correct! I can't resist a piece of well made furniture with good bones.
The desk had potential but it needed work! Stay tuned, the full transformation will follow.
The desk has one drawer that was missing the handles. I have been searching high and low for handles that would fit the desk, but I could not find anything that would fit based on where the holes from the old handles were. I know, I know...I could have filled the holes and drilled new ones but I went a bit backwards with this project. Long story short, I have had this desk for years and eventually painted it the colour I wanted it to be before fixing all the other things that needed to be updated. I only had a small amount of the paint left over which I was saving for an addition I had to make to the desk. Plus...I like to find my own way of doing things when I get the chance.
So here's the list of items I picked up to make my own drawer handles:
This is probably the easiest project I have ever done. I attached the bell hangers by screwing them into the holes, and then used my hand saw to cut the wooden dowel to the size I needed. I then took everything outside and spray painted them with some gold spray paint. Once they dried, I put everything back together.
What do you think of the finished product:
Until next time...
